2010 Conservation Programs

There are a series of programs intended to help Ontarians achieve their Summer Savings:

Peak Saver - Save by Degree
Effective November 1st, 2010 the Peak Saver Program has been temporarily suspended.

Join the thousands of Ontarians who are helping to lessen the strain on the electricity system when demand is the highest.

With Newmarket Hydro’s free peaksaver° program, you can save electricity, money, and help the environment. On the hottest days, air conditioning use is pushing Ontario's power system to the max. Newmarket Hydro can help you save electricity by limiting cooling during peak demand times as well as using the thermostat throughout the year to save energy. If you’re a homeowner of a single-family home and have a central air conditioning system then let Newmarket Hydro do all the work – at no expense to you. Just for signing up and having the thermostat installed, you’ll receive a $25.00 credit to a future power bill.

DO YOUR PART WITHOUT DOING A THING:
Here's how it works: peaksaver° sends a message to your thermostat to cycle, (slightly reduce) the run time of the air conditioner. You may not even notice a difference! It only lasts up to few hours, only on the hottest days, and never on weekends or holidays.

Cool Savings Rebate Program

You can qualify for up to $550 in rebates by replacing your air conditioning system with an ENERGY STAR®-qualified model. Participating heating and cooling contractors and program details can be found at:

Power Savings Program

Newmarket Hydro is proud to support the Power Savings Program. The fall 2009 program is an education awareness and incentive (coupon) program designed to help Ontarians make simple, energy-efficient choices that really add up.

Starting in October, residents of Ontario will be able to access the coupons several different ways.
